Geums Morris

This artwork was inspired from my days as a Textile Designer and my appreciation of the artist/designer William Morris.
The hand painted background takes on some of William Morris's archetypal imagery, plants such as Acanthus are very elemental in his works.
I placed curving stems and leaves ontop of this background using flowers such as the orange Geums, yellow Buttercups, and white Bluebells, the pale moonlike petals of a Rose are quite distinctive.
